In the UK 1000’s are seriously injured every year as a result of falling from a vehicle. Many of these injuries are broken arms or legs. Some are more serious injury’s and some result in Death! Within Hire, and the diversity if the operations, the most common area of the vehicle for people to fall from is the load area, followed by entering / exiting the cab. You don’t have to fall far to land hard! Working At Height applies equally to working on a vehicles / trailers etc. In law, work at height means ‘work in any place where a person could fall a distance likely to cause personal injury if no precautions are taken’.

    Courses available for Staff new to Hire Experienced but non certificated Staff Staff Refresher (Required at 3 to 5 year intervals) Instructor Training Available Hire Courses are specific for the Hire Industry, courses are not the same as a ‘user’ – these courses are available separately Access to the workshop area, the equipment/machines and a room / office suitable for the number of delegates will be required. All training courses are fully certificated and designed to train the basic skill requirements and associated job safety knowledge as appropriate. All courses are based on the HSE PUWER regulations as applied to Hire Industry, HASAWA, MHASAWA, Industry trade bodies and recognised best practice with full certification accordingly. We ensure that all training is administered to the most cost effective outcome, if you have mixed requirements as regards experience levels, machines etc we optimise the training time to accommodate the best possible cost effective outcome. If you are an employer or self-employed person, the HASAWA, MHASAW and Working At Heights regulations will apply to you. What Do the Regulations Require Me to Do? All operations requiring work at height must be risk assessed and reduced/eliminated if possible, you and your staff also need to receive WAH based training for the specific operations. In hire this will usually be working on vehicles, trailers etc.
